Twas the night before Christmas,
and all though the newsgroup,
Not a creature was stirring,
except for a newbie.

He posted his message
to newsgroups with care,
With the hope that the answer
soon would be there.

"Please, anyone, ANYONE
Please, tell me if I
Can get this network running by New Year?s
I don?t know what to even try.

I've been racking my brain
And reinstalling for over a week,
I keep getting an error
I think I?m unique.

I've searched everywhere,
I've read the FAQ too.
My one last hope,
I'm praying, is you.

I'm pretty intelligent,
not a dumb schmuck,
So I don't know why
I'm not having much luck."

He hit the Send button
and went off to bed,
With visions of resolution
Dancing in his head.

He hoped to learn
from people so wise,
who'd learn of his plight
and would sympathize.

When all of a sudden,
there arose such a clatter
of regular readers
posting in quite a chatter.

He ran to his computer
to see what was up
And was hit by a long thread of responses
as he powered it up!

Steam came from his monitor
when he read each reply --
He was amazed and dumfounded
and didn't know why.

There was Ray and Javier (1)
With the step by steps,
And Kevin and Moishe
Adding their two cents

And Marsha and Kevin3NF
Were there being wise
?It?s the Sharepoint issue, silly?
They all advised

Go to the web site
And download your fix,
It?s rapid, it?s easy
It will fix you up right qix! (2)

He opened reply after reply
And read in each case
That kind-hearted readers
lurked in this place.

Now while Les, and Cris and Jeff, and Mariette,
Andy and Cal and Chad and Eliot
Grey and Harry and Jim and Mal
Merv and Nick and Roger and Steve
Steven and Wayne are all MVPs
It?s all of us out here
That make these SBS groups the ?bee?s knees? (2)

And as we finish this poem
There was much to please:
"Merry Christmas to all ...
especially the newbies!"

(1) [with apologies to any regulars who were left out in the naming as
I couldn't fit you all into the poem]
(2) Okay ...rhyming is not my greatest skill, okay? Couldn't find a
google site for rhyming....
