I know that Trend seems to be the most recommended AV product here, but I've
been happy for a while with the older version of CA's software. The
decision I'm trying to make for myself and a number of SBS clients is
whether to upgrade to the new CA software, or switch to Trend.

By the way, I notice from system tray icon on all the local Microsoft staff
members' own computers that they use CA themselves - seems to be quite a
solid endorsement.

Any comments?

Andrew,

We use CA for the server and client based AV solution. On the server we use
GFI for Anti Spam and Virus protection. All works together OK. We have
some 15+ SBS servers that we look after.

Thanks
Dave

We use CA V7. It works well. You might look into CA
etrust secure content manager if you are planning to
upgrade.

Same here. I've been 100% happy with CA, although I'm not familiar with
Trend. By the way, if you have a recent CA version with the admin server,
etc. you'll find the current version very similar. I'm told there's a small
version upgrade in beta - if you get it through open license and buy
maintenance, you'll get the new version for free. I've been researching CA
boxed versus open license - for about the same price as boxed, open license
gives you the product plus a year of maintenance (upgrades and 24x7
support).

We're also a happy eTrust antivirus V7 customer. We're
also very happy with the eTrust Exchange option. It
blocks all the executables from e-mail before it gets to
our users.
