Hi

We have upgraded our CSM Suite to the new SMB product but cannot
access the management console to sign in. Keeps coming up with HTTP
407 Proxy Authentication Required and asks for a username & password.
The Administrator credentials don't work. Is there a way of stopping
authentication for this and also do we have to create packet filters
so that SMB can update automatically from the Trend update server. Our
server is SBS 2000 with ISA. Thanks

Mike.

Once you get to the management consoles for the Email and the Office
scan you enter in the proxy server ip, port 8080, username and
password for hourly updates. Have you opened up IIS and tried to open
the officescan from there?

My default Trend I use the server ip, port 8082 so it does not
conflict with ISA, I do not use ssl, I install in its own virtual
website. If you try to use port 8080 during the install nothing good
happens. Try uninstalling and rebooting. Kevin and Les have written a
few posts and articles about the install with a bit more detail than I
mentioned. Google the group for them.

Note that if you dig around Les has another post about setting up
Exchange to behave even better. It may cover Exchange 2003 but it stil
has some useful tips. That article is in a more recent blog.

Thanks for the help Jim. I followed the procedure to install Trend SMB
by Les Connor and can now access the management console. No problem
there. When it comes to updating both officescan and scanmail an error
message is returned saying 'Unable to connect to update server'. Is
there something else I should be doing?

Mike.

Try rebooting the SBS box - had the same issue on two SBS2K boxes and simply
rebooting resolved it for both...

David
