Hi
I am trying to map drives accross a VPN
If i use the net view command i get the following

*************************************************************************
Z:\>net view \\<SERVERNAME>\
Shared resources at \\<SERVERNAME>\

Share name Type Used as Comment

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fax Print Creates Fax Files
HP1220C Print A3 Printer
HPoffice Print hp officejet 6100 series
Shared Folders
Disk
The command completed successfully.
**************************************************************************

Great no problem. However when i try to map the drive i get the
following:-

***************************************************************************
Z:\>net use w: \\<SERVERNAME>r\
System error 67 has occurred.

The network name cannot be found.

*****************************************************************************

Anyone any ideas?
Thanks
Mal

What client are you using? (98?) instead of the server name, use the server
IP. If that works, you have a Netbios thing going on.

I think.

Hey Guys,

I was hoping we can continue this thread and resolve it for us and the
Internet community as whole.

At my employer, we have a remote user who is experiencing this exact
situation. We have a W2K client and server, getting error 67 as shown
above, and we have Netbeui loaded on both server and client trying to
map a drive across the VPN.

I am using command: net use \\ip address\sharename password
/user:domainname\user getting error 67 as described above. Netbeiu
solved error 53, but we do not have a solution to error 67.

I did not update the lmhosts file on the client, but we are not using
the NetBIOS name, rather the IP address. I looked at Microsoft
article 164596 finding it irrevelent because we are using using
replication nor do we have WINNT, rather W2K. I will try switching to
the NetBIOS name and updating the LMHOSTS, but does anyone have any
ideas? I have scoured Usenet for arlicles and am running out.

Thanks!
