I have a new WinXP workstation where, when you drag a desktop shortcut with
the mouse, the shortcut does not appear to move. Then when you release the
mouse button, the shortcut appears at the new location. It appears as if
you are just moving the mouse, until you release the button - then the
shortcut disappears at the old location and reappears at the new. I could
easily ignore this, but it annoys the user. Anyone seen this before?

This is a dell dimension 4600 with XP Pro, pretty much in its out-of-the-box
configuration. AFAIK, no display-related settings have been changed.

I posted this a little too quickly - apparently it's a known issue with
recent Dells. Interestingly, it seems to happen with a variety of video
cards, and both crt and lcd monitors.
