Hi All,

Just wondering what the SBS community are using to control spyware on a
network level.

We have tried pest patrol corp edition but didn't like it because of the
lack of a client interface.

Just wondering if there is an all-in-one product for virus, spam, spyware
and email
gateway scanner?

pest patrol corporate -- thumbs down, in my book

sunbelt recently released a new server based spyware called Counter Spy
Enterprise --- you can try it out for 30 days free -- designed from the
ground up for a server environment. I've tested it on SBS last month myself.

A big stick that says I'm watching you if you misbehave on the web.
Hence use your home computer for surfing the web.

Office = Work
Home = play as you wish.

Thumbs down means bad right...or I'm I mistaken.

Thumbs down = bad

You cannot assume that spyware only gets in from misbehaving while surfin'
the Internet. Sure, I do not support or allow things like WebShots or Kazaa
on business computers. Also, while it is nice to think that we can get by
with not giving users 'power user' or 'admin' level access, at times it's
necessary. And when you do, you need to be protecting against spyware.

Thanks for your feedback.

We have a mixture of antivirus (trend, vet, etrust etc) and I guess =
looking for an all-in-one if it exists as we have
lots of sites and managing a range of products sometimes gets difficult.

I think you answered the question by saying 'some' anti-spyware is =
included. At the moment antivirus products just
don't cut it with spyware, you know this when you run adaware or spybot.

I hope Symantec can fill that void. It would be nice to support and =
manage one product.

Perhaps you'd like to check out the Sophos solution too - PureMessage
comes in two flavours, AFAIK - Antivirus (only) and Antivirus +
Antispam.

They are also integrating their other bits (server and desktop
protection) into um... less bits :) - EM Library (server lib) and
Antivirus (desktop).

I haven't tried out these new Sophos products - hope to soon - the
current products, while possibly slightly convoluted to setup - run real
nice once sorted.

(One thing I've never liked about Symantec Corp Antivirus, is that it
seems to be only able to be set to check for updates once a day).
