I'm not able to confirm it right now, but I believe SBS 2000 is what is =
being used. The users have smtp (.com) addresses entered in heir user =
'profiles' on the server and look identical to the ones that work in =
that regard.=20
Just to be clear, here is where it is entered:
Each individual user's information is in a multi-tab window accessible =
via the administrator console. One of the tabs contains email =
information including a text field containing the default address (which =
is the .com address for all users) and below that contains a table in =
the lower portion of the tab window which has an entry for the smtp =
address settings (the SMTP line is bolded), one for the internal mail =
address, and another address line (whose content I don't recall). These =
settings are identical (except userid differences) between all the =
users, both those that can recieve external email and those who can't. =
Is that the location (the user 'profile' multi-tab window) you mean when =
you are saying that the two users do not have .com smtp addresses, or is =
there another location you intend?
Thank you for your response.=20
Sincerely,
Sophia Kelly

well...first off we need to clarify which version of SBS/Exchange we =
are talking about.
there is no SBS 5
There is SBS 4.0/4.0a which uses NT 4.0 Server and Exchange 5.0
There is SBS 4.5 which uses NT 4.0 Server and Exchange 5.5
There is SBS 2000 which uses Windows and Exchange Server 2000
There is SBS 2003 which uses Windows and Exchange Server 2003
The issue is most likely that there are not .com smtp addresses for =
these two addresses. If you need specific instructions to look at that, =
we need to know which version of SBS you are administering

Hi there,
I'm fairly new to SBS, but some experience with exchange.=20
I've taken over managing a SBS 5 server and need to=20
resolve an issue with two users unable to recieve internet=20
mail.=20
The SBS user settings appear to be set up identically to=20
the users whose mail works, I'm using the exchange webmail=20
client to test rule out differences in Outlook client=20
configurations, but I can't tell what's different. Any=20
ideas about where to look? All users can send and recieve=20
local email and send internet email sucessfully, just a=20
couple (who look like they were set up more recently) are=20
not able to recieve internet mail.
Thanks for any ideas,
Sophia Kelly
