Originally I planned to write an article about all new features in =
Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2 but for now I decided to stick with the =
most important features without the Mobile goodies. The 'What can I do =
with the Mobile Features in Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2' article will =
be published on a later date after I have more information on what =
devices are mostly used like PDA's or mobile phones. I have asked my =
local supplier of PDA's to lent me some of those devices so I can write =
a more meaningful article.
New articles
Article URL: How to install service pack 2 for Exchange server 2003. =
This article is available for Subscribers only.
Service Pack 2 for Exchange server 2003 on a SBS allows us to increase =
the data stores to 75 Gb. It also includes Intelligent Message filter =
for antispam. This article discusses all details on Service Pack 2 for =
Exchange Server 2003. The issues discussed in this document are:
1.. Where can I get Exchange Service Pack 2=20
2.. What you need to do before you install Exchange Service Pack 2=20
3.. Installing Exchange Service Pack 2=20
4.. Configuration of new features in Exchange Service Pack 2=20
1.. Database size limit and configuration=20
2.. Configure RBL Block lists in Exchange 2003=20
3.. Configure Intelligent Message Filter=20
4.. Turn on the Connection filter and IMF in the Default SMTP =
Virtual Server=20
5.. Custom Weighing Feature=20
6.. IMF can use Windows Update or WSUS
Article URL: Deploying Active Sync on the sbs way. This article is =
available for Subscribers only.
Microsoft has released a document called: Deploying Windows Mobile 5 =
with SBS 2003. That document says to deploy via group policy, no problem =
with that. Technically it should work, but we're SBS'ers and we have the =
magical tools like sbs management and adding client applications without =
touching one finger to the group policy directly.
Article URL: How to use Exmerge for backups. This article is available =
for Subscribers only.
This article was written for Mike Edwards. I met Mike at SMB Nation in =
Amsterdam and he asked me to write this article for him. If you want an =
article about a specific subject please let me know... The standard =
backup solution in SBS 2000 and 2003 does not offer an easy way of =
restoring a single mailbox. For this procedure you would normally use a =
third party solution but this article describes a method without using a =
third party backup solution. I use this procedure on all my SBS =
installations.
Article URL: How to add an email alert after successful backup. This =
article is available for all Registered Members.
Co author of this article is Oliver Sommer (Author of =
http://mssbsfaq.de). SBS Backup wizard will send an email alert if the =
backup has failed. The Performance Report will have the backup results =
next morning. This article describes step by step how to add an email =
alert in Health Monitor when the backup succeeded. It also describes how =
to eject a tape automatically after a successful backup.
Upcoming articles
a.. "How to configure FTP access to the SBS 2003 server with ISA 2004 =
installed". This will be a public document and therefore available for =
all Registered Members on the site. As you know publishing a FTP server =
on a SBS is not a wise thing to do but if you do it you should follow =
strict rules to prevent that your server gets hacked. I have seen to =
many SBS servers with FTP installed and wide open to the internet. This =
doc will cover that.=20
b.. "Installing and maintaining CRM 3.0 on Small Business Server =
2003". This will be a Subscriber only article. Marina is currently =
working on this and it is going to be a huge document that covers =
everything including tips and tricks for solving problems. Last time I =
spoke Marina she mentioned the doc had already more then 100 pages... =
Subscribers can have a sneak preview at =
