I recently upgraded a site from SBS2000 to SBS2003. We have a mixture of
Outlook 2000, XP and 2003 on the workstations.

All of them are experiencing slow response in using their contact folder and
in sending email. When sending an email, opening their contact folder takes
several seconds delay bofore the contact list is shown. After completing an
email, there is a 5 - 10 second delay, after clisking on "send" before the
screen changes and the email is sent.

Any ideas on this ?

Regards,
Brian

Brian-

Make sure they have no connections to their contact folder on the old
server. For example, with an OL2000 client: Close outlook, open the mail
applet in the control panel, choose the appropriate profile, check the
details for the Outlook Address Book entry. If you find more than one
Contacts folder here, either delete all but one, or delete them all, then
add one back in (it will be the correct one if you add it in after deleting
them all).

If this is your situation, this will solve it.

Also, make sure you're not using "SpamBayes", the free Bayesian filter, as
I've seen it hobble otherwise healthy Exchange clients on SBS2003 networks.
Opt for GFI Mail Essentials instead, for example.

Good Luck!
