We are experiencing problems logging on to SBS2000. After resetting DHCP
settings to adjust the DNS server (router) like we've done in the past, we
now have problems logging on. It used to take 5-7 seconds, now it takes up
to 18 minutes to log on to SBS2000.

I am now getting errors in the event viewer like:
..DNS server unable to interpret format

..DNS server unable to load resource record (RR) from the directory at [ip
address]

Does DNS on your nic(s) point to your server-IP?
Did you configure DNS-server to listen to it's own IP and set the
ISP-DNS-numbers in the tab Forwarders?
How many nics in the server? Checked the bindingorder?

I just fixed a similar problem...first step is to run
ipconfig /all on the client PC and be sure that the first
DNS server in the list is the SBS server. If it is not,
go into the TCP/IP settings and manually add the IP
address of the SBS server.

Good Luck!
