Hi, Everytime we shut down it takes about 10 minutes. Is there anyway to
track why it is taking this long?

Robert, please note the SBS 2003 newsgroup below.

One of the services, possibly Exchange is taking time to shutdown
possibly because it's busy.
Try shutting down individual services manually before Server shutdown to
see which one it might be.

There is a registry entry to force a faster reboot. Timetokill or
timetowait or something like that. There is also an article at
Microsoft about the setting. Google this group as it has been
mentioned before.

Hi Robert and Jim,

This is the article you want:

Shutdown and restart operations are very slow in Windows Small Business
Server 2003:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=827610

On the www.smallbizserver.net you can download the registry change if you
are a registered user.

Hello Robert. As other posters have mentioned, you are probably running
into the issue where the Information Store does not shut down in a timely
fashion at server restart. Have you installed Exchange SP1? If you are
experiencing this problem with SP1 installed, please send me an e-mail.
Remove the "online." from my e-mail address to get through to me.

Thanks.
