I changed the name of the site from within the site and now I can't load the
page. Is there a way to fix this or can I reinstall sharepoint and fix it?

I changed the name from company web.

Thanks

Yes, IIS is running and seems fine and so is DNS. I did get OWA run ning on

Hi John,

But do the DNS records point to the right host and ip number? The same for
the properties in IIS. Check that first. How about renaming the companyweb
back to its original?

Hi Marina, DNS is good, when I ping by name it resolves to the correct so DNS
is good. I can open the Sharepoint administration site fine but not the
companyweb one. I think maybe II just changed the title to it.

When looking in IIS at companyweb it points to the IP address of the server
and uses port 80. I also have OWA on this box and the default web site is
pointing to port 80 as well, that may in fact be the issue. Can these both
coexist? What port should Sharepoint use, maybe this is the real issue
because I looked again in administration and and companyweb is there but I
get a page not found error.

Hope this helps...

Thanks

Hi John,

Default IIS is setup as follows:

Default website should be pointing to your internal nic IP, port 80 and SSL
Port 443
Companyweb should have the Host header value companyweb, pointing to your
internal nic IP, port 80, SSL port 444.
The 2 Sharepoint Administration should point to the 'all unassigned', but
the SSL port should be empty. The ports will have random numbers.

In DNS you should have a record 'Companyweb' which is pointing to the
internal IP. There should also be a 'publishing' DNS record.

Where exactly do you see that OWA is pointing to port 80?

Hi Marina, IIS looks fine, I look under default web server and see port 80 to
all available and Exchange is under that.

I do not see a DNS publishing record, when I look at the bottom of the page
is does say there is a DNS error. I did add a 2nd DC for redundancy, was that
not a good idea, I am used to Windows 2003 where 2 DC's are a good thing.

Thanks

Hi, I found a document on deleting and restoring the Intranet, I just started
doing it so it was no big deal.

Thanks
