Fax Server on SBS 2000 question.

Can I successfully utilize two External USR 56K modems. One for
receiving and one for sending? I am currently using one modem with
good results but we are only sending. We would like to start
receiving via the Faxserver to reduce costs and improve routing.

Any comments on this would be appriciated.

thanks

Steve.

We use 2 modems now and each can be configured differently...

Our set-up:
TWO SEPARATE Direct Inward Dial Numbers
BOTH send...
ONE routes directly to the presidents e-mail
The OTHER routes to a person (our receptionist) designated to review,
forward and delete the original fax.

Works quite well and we spent no additional money on fax software.

One comment, please consider a brooktrout fax card, fax modems are not very
reliable for receiving (they drop to many faxes) at least from my
experience.

Good point Miguel! We had those (USR Courier v.Everything) modems
already on hand. To my knowledge, no complaints about dropped calls.
I will keep the brooktrouts in mind if we have to add more though!
