I have done a clean install of Window Small Business
Server 2000 and SQL server 2000 did not install properly.

There wasn't really any errors just a red cross saying
server components. When I looked in the information it
said 'an unspecified error has occurred'

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Try Re-Installing it,
Uninstall first if you have to.

"Unspecified Error" isn't much help to us is it .

SQL Server 2000 by me

me
Wed Oct 15 17:00:33 CDT 2003

I have the same problem, every time I include SQL with
the other Apps to install during initial burn in of the
server... SQL installation fails! I just thought it was a
bad cd or something.

I get around it by not installing SQL with the other
server stuff. Going back after the server is up and
running, then just running the SQL setup.exe file (I
think it's on CD2.

Good luck...

I have now gone through this procedure and found that it
will not copy the file sqlservr.exe. Also when the
installation begins, it recommends that certain processes
be closed and I can't close them, could this be the
problem?

Thanks.
