I have taken over a network someone else setup. I can't
add any workstations to the domain easily. I have setup
effective firewall and don't need or want all those
restrictions. What is the easiest way to remove ALL
Group and Local policies - figuring I would need to alter
the "My Business" snap-in within MMC. Guessing that this
is where the policies are being picked up and applied to
all domain computers. Thanks in advance!

By default, only Domain Admins or Administrators can add machines to an
SBS domain. Are you saying that using an account that is a member of
one of those domain groups you can't add machines to the domain?

>Yes, that is correct. Firstly when I try to join the
domain using domain Adminstrator account it times out (I
can ping server, have all correct IP setup, gateway,
etc.) however that account has been renamed and not yet
added to local Admin Group - maybe that is the problem.?
