All,

I posted a question a while ago about sub folders not inheriting the
permissions set from higher folders. I have been looking at this again as
it has come up after a few weeks.

Below is the permissions for the company drive and a new sub folder created
on a Win XP Pro machine. The Test document is not available to any other
clients.

D:\Company Shared - Domain Users, Domain Admins - FC not ticked to inherit
from Parent.

D:\Company shared\Advisory - Domain Users, Domain Admins - FC inherited from
D:\Company Shared - Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate
to this object is ticked

D:\company shared\advisory\test - FC Everyone

D:\Company Shared\Advisory\Test\test document.doc - FC Administrators,
System - ONLY Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this
object is ticked.

When the Win XP Pro client created the about Sub folder Test and then the
Test Document.doc the security is all wrong. Anyone any ideas why this is
happening? I can reset the permissions fine but any new documents or sub
folders created end up with the wrong security info.

Thanks
Dave
