Alex,

You need to call MS fullfilment center to get the media.... and that's
basically it. The codes should already appear on the eopen website.

When I query Eopen it says that SBS2000 is the current version. Haven't
they heard that 2003 has been released?
A couple of my clients world like to upgrade before their SA runs out.

The SBS2k3 version should appear by now... Can you see the SA stuff there?
You might want to call MS.

BTW-> You are entitled to SBS2003 even if your SA runs out now. You could
even order it a year from now and still get it.

No problem...

If you already have SA you automatically have the rights for new software
for that period of 2yrs. Even if you don't claim it and/or your software
assurance expires... you can still get the new software because you have the
rights to it.

Let's say you purchased SBS2k w/SA 6mo ago... SBS2k3Prem is released...
let's say another version of SBS2k4 is released (just hypothetically). You
have the rights to the newest software (and downgrade rights to any previous
version). You never claim the media... SA expires... you don't renew it: you
still can get media for SBS2k, SBS2k3 and/or SBS2k4.

Hope is clearer now...

Chad

If you purchased SA for Office 2003 today, and the next version of Office
isn't released until 2007, you only get the next version of Office if you
have an active Office SA agreement on the date the product is released.
Therefore, you'd have to renew your 2 year SA agreement in 2005.

Look at it this way: When you purchase SA, you're buying upgrade rights in
advance for any new version of your software released during the SA
agreement. So by purchasing SA on Office 2003, you buy upgrades rights to
any future version of Office *released during your SA agreement*. If the
next version is released after your SA agreement expires, then you won't
have any upgrade rights to the next version.

Javier's comment is saying that if a new version is released during your SA
agreement period, you have rights to that version regardless of whether you
install it during the agreement. E.g. - let's say I bought Office XP & a 2
year SA agreement in July of '02. In October of '04, I decide that I want
to install Office 2003. Even though I want to do this several months after
my SA agreement has expired, I still have rights to Office 2003 because it
was released while my SA agreement was active.
