Hello

I have a small problem setting up the SMTP settings. i am
setting up another office. settings to work. i have the
smtp connection... Unlike the other exchange bits I have
set up this site uses BT.. they have a secure SMTP server
(need user name and password to logon) im not sure where
you put the username and password. I have played with it
for a few days but to no avail. where do you put the
username and password in? so it can logon to the smtp
server to send the mail?

As Marina said make sure you run the ICW... after that enable outbound
authentication->

Exchange System Manager->Connectors-> right-click SMTP Connector->
Properties-> Advanced tab-> Outbound Security-> Enter the stuff for your
ISP.
