Hi,

What are the basic configuration required to set a smtp server (I want to
give a ip address through which all mail outgoing must be routed.)

If using an IP address in the smtp connector field, as opposed to an smtp
mail domain (like outgoing.verizon.net), I believe you need to put square
brackets -- [] -- around your IP address, like this: [111.222.33.44]

Dear Kevin,

Actually the problem is my incoming and outgoing is working fine except when
I am trying to send mails through clients (Outlook Express) to the same
domain (I have one domain <mydomain>.com some of the e-mails ids configured
in my exchange server and some are on my head office which has no relation
from my exchange). I receive mails through POP3 mail connector but I am
unable to set my SMTP main connector so that i can send mails to my head
office also.

Error message which i receive

Your message

Amit,

Check the "messages" tab on the property sheet for yor SMTP virtual server
in Exchange Sytem Manager. There is a place to enter a server to which to
forward messages with unresolved recipients. The help topic there seems to
suggest that one would possibly use this in your situation.

Note: I have no direct experience with this function, so try it at your own
risk...
