Hi there,

We are currently using SBS2K. We want to be able to access our exchange
server over the internet. We have a ADSL broadband connection with a fixed
IP. However the ISA filter wizard will not allow the Exchange server to post
on the internet since it treats the ADSL connection as a DIAL UP connection.

Is there anyway around this?

Cheers

Dave

When you say you want to access Exchange over the Internet, I assume you are
refering to OWA (Outlook Web Access). I must say that SBS2003 does a much
nicer, cleaner job in allowing you to configure and setup OWA for external
access.

For SBS2000, you have to decide if you want to use OWA with or without SSL.
Here are two links to get you going:

Hi drproplus

Are you in the UK with one of those USB modems ?

If so you are on 1 nic and ISA is only in cached mode. Also you are finding
in the ICW the ' web filter ' is greyed out.

Two options, either install another nic and get an ADSL built in router,
then the wizard works. Alternatively you have to do the wizard manually and
then to troubleshoot you cannot rely on wizards everything is manual and you
have to learn ISA more in depth.

How knowledgeable / confident are you? If you configure ISA wrong you will
open the server up.

Two Nic setup in SBS http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=224

Finally as Kevin says, 2003 is recommended. If you got standard then
wouldn't be able to use ADSL USB modem.

p.s and welcome to SBS NG
