I am running SBS 2000 with Exchange for email. Some of the users want to
access POP3 accounts AS WELL AS their Exchange mail. I ran the ICW and
allowed POP3 through the ISA, but on the desktop I'm getting errors
immediately that Outlook can't access the mail server. Is there anything
else that needs to be done to allow POP3 through Outlok directly alongside
of Exchange (as opposed to using the POP3 connector)?
Thanks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce -

Is the firewall client installed on the clients?

Hi Bruce -

Ok, just to make sure that I'm not missing anything obvious, you are using
two nics in your server - right? If so, and if the firewall client is
installed - are these users members of the BackOffice Internet Users group?
Have you customized / added any access rules in ISA? Can these users access
other non-proxied web content like newsgroups?

Try this:

http://isaserver.org/tutorials/Making_Outlook_Express_Work_
with_ISA_Server_Quick_Start_Guide.html

It explains how to allow pop3 to work thru ISA.

Yes, I have two nics and the client is installed and the members are
Internet users. No added manual rules to ISA. Don't know about the access
to newsgroup question though. I'd have to check it out early next week.
