I have the following urgent roaming profile problem for a user running XP
Pro SP1 on SBS2k:

When logging off the users gets the message that 'his roaming profile can't
be updated'.

When logged in, Outlook requires the user name, domain and password again.

He can't access shared drives - gets the error that the user does not exist.

The user has been on the system for months and then this suddenly crops up.
I have had a similar problem before with another user on another SBS system.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Julian

Check the ipconfig/all on the clients. Does everything point to the
server-IP? Is the Firewall Client installed? How many nics in the server?

Yes everything points to the server IP. WINS Proxy enabled and IP routing
enabled are set to NO.

The Firewall Client is installed and 2 Nics in the server. No other users
are having the problem?

Hi,

seems to me you have a corrupt profile, best option is to
rename the roaming profile on the server to alternative,
go to his machine, log on as administrator, rename his
local copy of profile, get him to log on again, this will
create a brand new profile, and copy to his roaming
profile on the server when he logs off. you can then copy
any information from his old profile like docs etc, but
you will need to recreate his exhange server account, and
maybe any other apps.

Good Luck

Also, put the XP-nic on anything but autosense and have a look at
www.smallbizserver.net for other issues with XP.
