Rinstall Shared Fax Problem

On an SBS 2000 Server, while troubleshooting Port already Open errors, I
uninstalled the Shared Fax Service as suggested in MS Support Docs. Having
resolved that problem, I attempted to reinstall the Shared Fax Service and
ran into an unidentified error while working through the SBS maintenance
install wizard.

Anybody know how to reinstall the Shared Fax service on an uptodate SBS 2000
Server

You may want to make sure that all the SBS Fax-related files have been
removed, then do the reinstall...

The problem is the windows installer service. I had the same problem
and i solve it as follow:

1. execute msiexec.exe /unregister

2. Goto to /winnt/ServicePackFiles and rename the following files:
msi.dll -> msi.old
msiexec.exe -> msiexec.old
mishnd.dll -> mishnd.old

3. do the same with this 3 files in winnt/system32/dllcache and
winnt/system32

4. execute the instmsiw.exe in SBS CD2 foler /FAX/SERVER

5. Start the setup.exe in the same folder ... Installation now should
works fine

6. Restart the server and Install a new windowsinstaller
