My sbs 2000 server is a raid-5 system c/w 2 logical drives

Logical Drive 1 (Basic) - C: 4gb (1gb free space) (system)
- F: 30gb (18gb free space) (exchange
databases)
Logical Drive 2 (dynamic) - E:100gb (70gb free space) (data)

My tech. support tells me that even with the low drive-c space, the upgrade
to SBS 2003 should run. Will I run into problems with low disk space after
the upgrade though??? Has anyone used successfully, Powerquest's Volume
Manager to resize system partitions online??? Any suggestions greatly
appreciated.

thanks.w

Hi

I think 4 gig c drive is a tad low - and your idea of increasing it would be
a good idea before doing the upgrade.

Can I assume that the raid 5 is a hardware raid. If so then you should be
able to use Volume Manager to resize your c drive

I have done this successfully on a compaq prolient with a hardware raid 5
setup. We had SBS2000 with a 4 gig hard drive and we resized the c drive to
about 10 gig. We actually made a bootable CD from a windows98 startup disk
(of all things!!) and put the volume manager files on that CD and ran Volume
Manager from that.

Before doing this though, make sure you have a verified full backup - just
in case..........

I would go 12GB for the C: drive and Volume Manager works great, just ghost
it first just in case.
