I have a Terminal Server (SBS2000) and an lacal PC with an HP3015 USB
printer (Dot_4_USB001) and cant print locally. I have added the drivers on
both the PC and the terminal Server.
If i install an HP1022 printer I have no problems.
In Terminal Server log it says it can't install the printer.
Can any of you help me.

Multi-function printers are highly questionable for use on Term Servers.

Time and time again, the best printers to use in a TS environment are those
that can mimic an HP Laserjet 3/4 printer. The HP 1010/1012/1022 series will
generally work in a TS environment, even though HP will often either not
support it, or will require the use of a different print driver.

Kevin/Gunnerboy,

I'd like to add my $0.02...I have users who have installed USB printers on
their desktops and tried to "share" them on the network and they have become
very finicky..somethime they work and sometimes they do not work and are
invisible to other desktops on the network.

As a rule I do not use USB printers in a business environment.

Ordinarily, I buy a netgear PS101 print server that can be accessed and
configured from the server using TCPIP and attach a centronics(parallel)
1294 type printer to it.

The cost savings on the cheapo USB printers does not outweigh the support
costs and aggravation.

G'day,

I've found that the best way to print to a workstation hosted USB printer is
to give the workstation a static IP and create a port of
\\staticip\printshare on the server. Install the printer to this new local
port on the server and Bob's your uncle

Cheers
