See http://www.smallbizserver.net/sbs2000/remote.aspx to set up a VPN so you
can log in from home.

If you have a configuration with only one NIC, you would need a router with
a VPN endpoint instead.

How are you connecting to the SBS? Dialup, VPN? Have you granted yourself
dialin-rights? Which errormessage do you get?

I'm using WinXP Pro Desktop Remote Connection as my way
into my work Server. I have have also setup VPN also on
my Home PC... I'm sure it has something to do with my
Rights on the SB Server. I can't find where I should
setup and grant myself right to logon at...

do you want to run apps on the server or RDP to their XP PRo machine. I
strongly suggest not using a VPN as many people here do b/c they do NOT
understand the security implications of a home user's machine (probably no
AV - especially current, probably no Windows Updates in forever, and
probably have Kazaa installed) on your LAN. Sorry, not in my book! VPN for
home users machines is as bad as not doing a backup or not running AV on
your server.

Mark -- Let me start over...

I wants to logon to my work SBS 2K server from home. I have at my location
(Home), WinXP Pro with ADSL and not a Modem. I wants to use the internet to
asset my work server. I have setup my Home system with VPN and RDC, but
still can't logon to my server. I know it has something to do with the
Server end and my Rights to have Remote Login. So, I'm looking for some
help on this subject.

Thanks,

Taylor

are you using an admin account? That is what you would need unless you
modified your GPO
