Hello Dana.

I finally got some information.

It looks like the VPN connection is still active when this happens.

Also, when it happens, we tried pinging three things:
The static ip address of the server - Gives 4 replies with
nothing lost
The static ip address with 3389 on the end of it - Gives bad
parameter
The servers local nic address 10.0.0.1 - Gives a loss of data
The servername - Gives could not find server xxxxx

Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

you have to use telnet to try a specific port.

Hello Jeff.

OK. I got disconnected and did "Telnet xx.xx.xx.xx 3389" and received
"Could not open connection to the host, on port 3389: Connect failed"

Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

To go along with this problem. I started terminal services session at the
office where the server is from a local workstation and did not go through a
VPN. The session lasted for hours and never terminated the session or
disconnected.

Hope that helps.

Tony

I have an account where the dsl does not seem to be working so swell.
I can RDP into any other server and work as long as I want. At that
account the connection may drop in a few minutes. That account has had
to reboot their dsl on more than a few occasions because it is acting
up.
