We have SBS2000 right now, Trend 5.1 for SBS, and Veritas 8.6 for SBS. When
I do the upgrade to SBS2003 will Trend and veritas still work or do I need
to go buy all new stuff?

Thank!!!

Douglas

Douglas,

I would recommend that you upgrade to Trend's version 6 for SBS - it's now
called Client/Server/Messaging (C/S/M) suite. As to Veritas, a lot of SBS
users who used Veritas for SBS2000 are finding that the version of NTBackup
with SBS2003 is more than adequate. The only exception is if you really
wanted to do brick level (single user mailbox ) restores.

I was hoping to find a way without having to upgrade Trend. We will have 60
workstations, and the licensing for it is a fortune, well over two grand :(

Thanks!

Trend appears to be eliminating the free ride. In the past if you
bought Trend products you could use it forever and get av updates. Now
I think they expect av renewals just like Norton and McAfee. Time to
include annual av maintenance fees to the budget. The question is how
long they will let the users of their older products have a free ride?
