Well as far as I can see we are still having to use the registry edits
even on SP1 integrated versions of SBS 2000. I'm not too thrilled
about still having to do these edits by hand but hey, at least it
works.

My question is regarding this section:

1.e "you need to create two A records in DNS: one in the root of
the domain for the domain name (for example, a blank host record in
your company.local zone), and an A record for your Global Catalog (for
example, your SBS server) in gc._msdcs.domain name.com."

What is correct for the A Record in the gc section:

Should the A record be the host name "myserver" and IP address of the
SBS2K box or should it be (same as parent folder) and the IP of the
server, i.e.:

myserver A 192.168.12.1

or

(same as parent folder) A 192.168.0.1

Thanks,

Aydin

though someone close to me will argue that the domain record is not required
I follow the KB exactly.

If you follow the KB instructions you end up with 'host' records rather than
'A' records.

the domain record is 'same as parent'
the GC record is the server name.
