I am configuring a new install of SBS 2000. After running
the IIS configuration tool from the ToDo list, I am unable
to access my Exchange "Public Folders" in AD. When I
click the public folders icon I receive the following
message.

The connection was refused. Ensure that your HTTP virtual
servers are all started and check that the WWW service is
running.

ID no. c103b401
Exchange System Manager

I have confirmed the virtual servers and WWW service is
running. If I go back into the IIS configuration tool and
click "Restore Defaults", I am then able to access the
public folders.

Can anybody explain to me what is happening here and how I
should procede...

Thanks,
Don

Thank you for posting your question to the newsgroup.

You may see this error if the defaut web site is configured to listen on
another port rather than TCP port 80

319240 You Cannot Manage Public Folders by Using Exchange System Manager

I have reviewed the port setting of my default web site
based on knowledgebase artice 319240. The default port is
set to 80. When I click the advanced tab I see the
following:

Multiple Identies for this web site:
IP Address Port
192.168.16.2 80
127.0.0.1 80

Multiple SSL Identities for this web site:
IP Address Port
192.168.16.2 443
127.0.0.1 443

One other thing I noticed, If I disable the external nic I
do not receive this error.

Thanks,
Don
