Have the remote users set up Outlook to synchronize files for offline
access. Add any public folders they need access to to their public folder
favorites (only pf's in the favorites can be made available offline). In
the synchronization settings, make sure they choose to make the GAL
available in addition to any folders they want. I also recommend that you
set Outlook to sync every time you shut it down, so users cannot forget to
synchronize.
This should be fairly straightforward - just make sure you give it a good
test before you rely on it. You don't want to wait until your connection is
down to find out that you forgot to choose an important folder for
synchronization. Be prepared for the initial synchronization to take a
while, especially if the folders are large. After the first one, only
changed items will be copied, so those'll be faster.
You should be able to find out offline files in Outlook help, or post back
if you have questions.
