I'm trying to add a NT4WS to a SBS2k using the setup disk. The NT4WS is part
of a existing NT4 network I have static IPs (no DHCP server). I'm migrating
the existing network to SBS (no DHCP)there are 8 computers in all on the
NT4 network most are NT4WS, I added one computer (win95) with no problems
setup the exchange mail and internet with no problems. When I run the setup
disk it stops and asks if I want to UN-JOIN the existing Domain I say "YES"
and then it tells me it can't find the DC. The network properties have been
changed to get ip from DHCP server and can no longer find the old server.
How do I stop this from changing the network prop.

Thanks
tcb

If you don't have a DHCP server and other machines are static addresses and
this machine is set to obtain automatically.....that is the problem.

It's not set to this BEFORE I run the set up disk and the setup changes it.

don't run the SETUP disk! Do it manually.

Have you got WINS installed on the server? You better run DHCP on it. You
can push all the necessary settings for WINS and DNS.
Make sure that the ipconfig/all from the clients shows that everything is
pointing to the server-IP.
