Lately we have been having trouble installing Outlook 2002 to new client
workstations. (And a couple where upgrading Office 97 to Office 2000
over-wrote Outlook with 2000.) It sets there for a long time claimimg to be
installing, then asks for a reboot of the workstation, and after reboot it
offers to do the same thing again. It seems there must be something wrong in
the ClientApps folder on our SBS2000 server. Is there a way to re-install it
other than re-installing SP1? I assume I can't just copy the files from the
CD to the ClientApps\Outlook2002 folder.
Now that I think about it, after a server crash last fall and re-install of
SBS, (reformat, reinstall, rebuild domain and AD, etc) I don't believe it
ever asked for the Product Key, which was different than the original
Outlook/Front Page key that came with SBS. And I don't think we have got it
to install since then, which would seem to confirm that it's not properly
installed to the ClientApps folder. But that brings back the other question,
do I have to re-install SP1 to try to straighten it out?
Thanks,
Dave
