Having installed SP4 on my SBS 2000 without any glitch, I find that I am unable to connect to msnews.microsoft.com. I have to reboot
the server and then the connection establishes. This connection will work for a day or two and then stop till I reboot.

Shall be thankful for any work around.

Sure it's not more like a router having an issue? Anything in the event logs?

Susan,

I am using an external NIC for my internet through cable and there is no mention in the event log.

Sure it's not the NIC that is losing connection or not picking up DHCP from the cable company or something...what if you "disable"
"enable" it rather than rebooting next time..

As a routine I disable the connection at night and enable it in the morning. Probably it does not connect to the newsgroup server
after enabling but after rebooting it does.

May I ask why you do that? That seems a bit extreme if you have all your ports closed and/or monitored?
