Hello,

I've read on a couple posts in this group that a regular Windows 2000
Server install can be done from the SBS media if the install is started
from boot floppies which have had the ".sif removed". I can't quite
figure out exactly what that means. The first boot floppy has a
"txtsetup.sif" but removing that doesn't work.

So, am I supposed to somehow create a new txtsetup.sif to replace that
one, or am I supposed to create a winnt.sif and use that in addition to
the txtsetup.sif?

And yes, I'm attempting to do what amounts to a Swing Migration. I
figure if I run into too many other problems I will try the the Kit or
the Book.

Thanks in advance,

Leonard

if your goal is to use the SBS CD's to create a Windows Server 2003, I would
advise against it. You will find that the server will automatically shutdown
after several weeks.
