I'm trying to set up PCanywhere on a client computer so I
can remotely administer various applications running on
the server, through the Internet.

Firstly I'll expalin the configuration.

I have a Small Business server which acts as the DCHP
server and issues IP addresses under 10.0.1.x

The server also runs ISA, and all clients have access to
the Internet through the Firewall Client.

The server has direct access to ADSL broadband through a
static IP address.

The client computer is 10.0.1.20 and has PCanywhere
running waiting or a connection

I have looked through loads of support questions on the
internet, but can't seem to get it to work.

I am assuming the bit I need to do and get my head around
is somehow forward the PcAnywhere port requests to the
client computer.

Please help

The easiest way may be to establish a VPN to the server and then fire up PC
Anywhere. There should be no need to mess with ISA with that configuration.

Otherwise...

Publishing a host using PCAnywhere behind ISA

Hi I've looked at this ISAserver.org link, and understand
it until this point

Then, create 4 server publishing rules (using one per
protocol definition previously created), using the
external IP of the ISA that you want to make visible, and
the internal IP of the host running PCAnywhere.

How do you do this ?

Thanks

If all you need is to adminster your server, Tight VNC - which is free,
works great. I install VNC on all my customer's SBS servers AND
workstations. All I need to do is VPN to the server and then I can access
and take control of any workstation or the server.

The following article talks about publishing a secure mail server, but some
of the ISA screens shots show you where to go in ISA to get to the Server
Publishing section. You would be setting up 4 new rules. I think there may
be more info in the help section in ISA.
