Dear All,

Outlook on most if not all PCs here is experiencing delays when switching
between different messages, typing in message windows i.e. you'll type a
line and half way through typing the cursor will freeze for a couple of
seconds and then carry on. It almost seems like outlook is waiting for
exchange to catchup as it were.

Its getting fairly annoying, any ideas what the cause may be? I am thinking
of trying an offline defrag of the exchange server databases.

I run a fully patched SBS2000 with dual 1Ghz Proc, 2Gb RAM, Pleanty of disk
space with 25 clients.

TIA

Jhon

Outlook 2000 Very Unresponsive when accessing EX2000 Mail boxes. by Mark

Hi

How big is your Exchange database.

A client of mine recently had this problem, when I turned
up on site it turned out that everyone keeps their
messages in their inboxes, and hadn't deleted any for a
good couple of years. Out of 20 clients the smallest
inbox contained over 6000 old messages. An archive to
local disk was needed for everyone. It resolved their
problem, and knocked gigabytes of the size of the database.

I'll give that a try. Oh joy, defraging my Exchange DB on a hot Saturday
afternoon :(
