Hello,

On many, but not all, of my PCs, when the user opens Outlook, it shuts down
after a few seconds. This started after I installed some patches on my
server on Friday. I installed the following patches:

Update Rollup for Exchange 2000 (KB870540)
ISA Service Pack 2
Vulnerability in ISA Server 2000... (888258)

It stands to reason that one of these patches caused the problem, but I am
not sure. Has this happened to anyone? I appreciate the help. Thanks,

Chris

Cris,

Thanks for the response. The event in my log is the following:

EventID:
Source:
Category:
Event:
The Directory Service Referral interface failed to service a client request.
RFRI is returning the error code:[0x%1].

One thing that I forgot to mention is that on Friday, my external network
adapter when out. To repair it, I uninstalled it, opend the case, reseat it,
and when it reinstalled, put in the appropriate IP, Subnet, Gateway, and DNS
entries. I did not run the Internet Connection Wizard. That said, is it
possible I didnt configure something correctly? Should I just re-run the
ICW? Thanks,

Chris

Hello,
>>>>
>>>>=20
On many, but not all, of my PCs, when the user opens Outlook, it shuts =
>>>> down after a few seconds. This started after I =
installed=20
some patches on
>>>> my server on Friday. I installed =
the=20
following patches:
>>>>
>>>> Update =
Rollup for=20
Exchange 2000 (KB870540)
>>>> ISA Service Pack=20
2
>>>> Vulnerability in ISA Server 2000...=20
(888258)
>>>>
>>>> It stands to reason =
that one=20
of these patches caused the problem, but I
>>>> am not =
sure.=20
Has this happened to anyone? I appreciate the help.=20
Thanks,
>>>>
>>>>=20
