Is there a way with SBS 2000 to set an automated reply message when mail is
received for an invalid email account? For example, if an employee leaves
the company and the account is deleted from the server, anyone sending email
to the invalid email address doesn't receive any type of notification that
the email address doesn't exist. Is there a way to setup in Exchange to
recognize if it is a valid email address & if not, send a reply?

Hi S,

Default the senders will receive a NDR, unless you have turned that off.

Check out the Global Settings in Exchange System Manager.
