Hi All
I inadvertently deleted a user from the console (but not through active
directory). Now he's gone!
If I go to exchange system manager I can still see his mail box but if I
right click on it to reconnect the reconnect option is ghosted out.
How can I get him back?
Thanks, David

Recreate the user account in Active Directory. Then follow the steps below.

HOW TO: Recover or Restore a Single Mailbox in Exchange 2000 Server
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;813337
Restore a Mailbox by Using Exchange System Manager
To restore a mailbox by using Exchange System Manager, follow these steps:
1.. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then
click System Manager.
2.. Expand Administrative Groups, and then expand AdministrativeGroupName.
3.. Expand Servers, and then expand ServerName.
4.. Right-click Mailbox Store, and then click Run Cleanup Agent.
5.. Right-click the mailbox that you want to recover, and then click
Reconnect.
6.. In the list of Active Directory accounts that appear, click the user
account that you want the mailbox to connect to, and then click OK.
7.. Quit Exchange System Manager.
