More backup problems!

In the absence of our Sony tape device (currently at the doctors) I am
attempting to use a maxtor usb external hard drive.
Incremental backups (around 650Mb) are fine. As soon as I attempt a full
backup (around 22GB) I get a disk full message after 4.7 GB despite the fact
there is over 30Gb free space! Can't find anything on veritas site; all
answers say to free up space!!
Any thoughts anyone. Also I thought there used to be a veritas newsgroup
but I don't seem to be able to find it!

This sounds like you are backing up to a FAT32 partition (in which the
maximum file size is 4GB). Change it to NTFS or backup in smaller
increments.
