Please can someone help me. I have a 2000 server running which has no mirrors
or raid array. It has 2 36Gb hard drives, 1 is partioned (10 and a 26 ). I
need to mirror these hard drives but can't get to the add mirror click as it
is greyed out. How do I, can I mirror these partitions? If i need to
reformat the 1st hdd I will but would rather not. Thanks in advance

No reformatting of the primary disk should be necesary.

Primary Disk = Disk0
Secondary Disk = Disk1

The disks must be converted to 'Dynamic' disks before you can mirror them.
This is a one-way street. Once they're converted to dynamic disks, you
can't switch back to 'basic' disks without reformatting.

First make sure you have a good full backup of your primary hard drive to
tape or a spare (maybe external) drive. Things *can* go wrong!

Also, before you actually create the mirror from the primary drive to the
secondary (shadow) drive, create a small primary parition on it (a few MBs
will do) and make it an active partition. Then delete this partition so
you're back to all unallocated space on the secondary drive. This writes
the correct MBR info to the secondary disk as noted in the following
