have been given the task of researching the problems, process and mis haps
of migrating from Small Bussiness Server 2000 to Windows Server 2003 (not
sbs2003), we are doing this as SBS is to restricting and is becoming more of
a hindrance than a help. I found this topic on a forum with Google (
http://www.computing.net/windows2003/wwwboard/forum/3890.html ) but the
internet seems to only want to help me migrate to sbs2003.
If you know of any other links, hints, faq's, general help or problems
please let me know.

Many thanks,

Jim.

I'll also be moving to exchange to a new server, it'll either be 2003 or 2007
what ever we find is easier to do.

Thanks Merv, It looks like swing it will be the only way as we do not want to
go via sbs 2003 at all. I'll post it in the sbs 2003 newsgroup aswell.

We are trying to do this same scenario for a client. I know about the Swing
it kit and was prepared to order but the drop down does not show a SBS2003 to
Windows 2003 standard migration.

It can be done using a swing migration Mike. Jeff just doesn't have this on
his web site. You might want to contact him directly: ycst@sbsmigration.com

Can I migrate to Windows 2003 Server without a transition pack?

You could use the transition pack for this. A swing could also work if
you're going to new hardware.
