Is it possible to upgrade an SBS 2000 server to Windows
Server 2003 Enterprise Edition?

No.... the only way would be to get the migration pack and then upgrade to
Win2k3Ent.

Ok, as I am not at all familiar with SBS, can you tell me
a little more about what the migration pack does?
Currently I have an SBS system in Italy (local office)
that has the same domain name as my primary server 2003
network in MPLS. I need to assimilate the SBS network
into the primary domain. That means changing the domain
name on the italy server and making it part of the
forest. I was hoping I could so some sort of
migration/upgrade to do this.

Thanks for the response

SBS must be the root of the forrest... you can't have SBS as a child domain
of your central office. You can't even join it to the existing domain.

It looks like SBS won't fit your scenario... so what you should do is get
the Migration Pack (and Migration CALs). The migration pack will license SBS
for the stand alone products... so you won't be limited by SBS restrictions.
Will be exactly as having Win2k, Exchange2k, ISA2k, SQL2k as stand-alone
components... then you can upgrade to Win2k3 if you like.

You can learn more about the MP-
http://www.microsoft.com/sbserver/techinfo/deployment/2000/MigrationPack.asp

If you have more questions please post back.
