It has to be run on its own server..
No the software is not free...but I also doubt you'd be able to find it =
anymore
Your best bet right now would be getting new 64bit capable hardware in =
preparation for SBS 2008 which is expected out later this year
This would be much less expensive than just trying to upgrade Exchange =
itself as you'd have to buy all new CALs too

We have several sales people who have hand held devices that can synch =
with=20
Exchange using ActiveSynch. However, we have Exchange 2000 (becasue we =
have=20
SBS 2000) and ActiveSynch is not part of that. I have heard that the =
product=20
mentioned in the subject line would allow this type of functionality =
if=20
installed. My question is, 1) Is this server software free now that=20
ActiveSynch has basically replaced it in more recent Exchange versions =
and=20
2) Can it also be run on the Small Bus Server - or should it be moved =
off to=20
its own server completely?
We are looking at upgrading to a more recent version of Exchange but =
money=20
is tight and we may not be able to do this for a long time.
Any thoughts or ideas on this?
Thanks, Brad=20
