Hi All,

My SBS2000 server keeps using up all available memory.
When I reboot the server only fourty percent of available
memory is used, but, as three to four days pass all
available memory is gradually depleted until no memory
remains. I have identified the problem as a SQL memory
leak but do not know where I can confine the amount of
memory available to SQL. Can anybody help?

Kind Regards,

George.

This is probably normal behavior. SQL Server and Exchange are designed to
grab memory as needed and to give it back when it is needed elsewhere.
Somewhat unnerving to see, but usually not much impact on system
performance.

I had the same problem. You can limit the amount of memory that SQL can get
by going to Enterprise Manager, Right-click the server and make the
adjustments on the Memory tab. My SQL is only used for Backup Exec and
Compaq Insight Manager so I limited mine to 128mb, otherwise it would take a
lot more and I haven't had any problems since I did this.
