Hi,

I'm in the process of installing a new member server as a Terminal Server.

I currently have a 35 user SBS 2000.

Can you tell me how this works (licencing).

I will have 20 remote users using TS so I will have get 20 Win 2K user CALs
and 20 TS Cals (is that right)?.

Also will these remote users be able to access the SBS 2000 without
requiring a further CAL licence on the SBS 2000 server?.

Many thanks

Sorry but I forgot to mention that the 20 remote users will be accessing just
one application and this application uses a SQL 2000 database on the SBS.

Does this make any difference.

Thanks

I'm assuming that the member server will have Windows 2000 Server operating
system on it with TS 2000 running in Application mode.

The SBS 2000 CALs will cover access to the Windows 2000 member server, so
you won't need to buy any Win2K CALs (which don't exist anymore anyway).

How to configure licensing on an additional Windows server in an SBS network
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;327644

As long as the remote users have Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 Pro on them,
you won't have to buy any TS CALs. If the remote users have Windows XP Home
Edition or Win9x on them, you'll need to buy TS cals. Now, the thing I'm
not sure about at this point is the downgrade rights of TS2003 CALs (since
TS 2000 CALs are no longer available).
