I have a SBS 2000, the clients are XP running through a simple router
and dsl line. I added a domain user to the admin group of a local PC
and now the user can not get on the Internet(The page cannot be
displayed). I removed the user from the admin group but they still can
not get on. I rebuilt this machine three times and everytime I add a
domain user to the local admin group I lose Internet access. All other
network functions are fine. I am running DHCP and my setting do not
change, and I can't access sites I know about using just IP addresses,
so I don't think it is a DNS issue. If I logon to the machine as
adminitrator I have Internet access. I am not sure if this is a SBS or
what?

Thanks for any input.

Are running ISA Firewall Client on the computer? From a command prompt, can
you ping websites when you move the user to Local Admin Group?

Thanks for the feedback. I am not on site now to be able to check on
the client, but when I place http://207.68.172.246 in my browser it
should resolve to msn.com. I am not getting this so I believe I am not
getting past the router. If I find I am running the ISA Firewall
Client should I just disable it?

You can test connectivity from the Router itself, login to the Router and
perform a ping test. If successful, then disable the Firewall Client to see
if you can get out.
