Firstly, sorry for posting a blank page .. too quick with the trigger
finger.

Have a network with a SBS 2000 Server and Windows 2000 (member) TS.

The Environment settings for the User when logging on are set to run the
same application (accounting package). When the close the App the session
closes. No VPN only network logons.

All has been working fine up until a week ago where some users are actually
getting the desktop and the App is not running at Logon. Open another
session and it works fine.

The users that appear to be having the problem are running the RDP Client
and not the TS Client (but not all RDP Clients are experiencing the
problem).

Has anyone encountered something similar ... Technet and Google have proved
fruitless so far.

What accounting package? What is the input locale set to?

The accounting package is not a problem. Wriiten in Visual FoxPro and has
been running in TS for over 3 years now.

By inpout locale are you refereing to Regional Settings? I'll double check
but am certain it's set to Australia.

The weird thing is that most of the times it will work fine and prior to a
week or so ago it always worked fine. I'm almost thinking its some profile
issue, ie. cannot find the profile settings when logging on, but there's
nothing in the event logs.

There are known issues with Arrow accounting that if the iput locale (not
Regional Settings, but part of!)is not set corretly there is an issue. One
could reasonably assume that input locale could be an issue with other
applications! And Microsoft do admit to a bug with Windows2000 TS input
locale settings.
The other thing that you could try is recreating the user account? Make sure
that you export the users Exchange data to a PST file first (cheats way :) )
and make sure that it is stored somewhere accessable (root).

Resolved:

Recently installed second NIC (10/100/1000) and needed to reconfigure TS
specifically for this NIC. Old NIC was disabled and TS configuration was
set for "all available network connections"
