I currently have a customer with a 10-client license of Server 2003. What
are their options to upgrade to SBS 2003 Standard Edition with 10 licenses,
and what are their costs?

Are there any issues with upgrading in this manner? If so, can someone post
with their respective (possible) fixes?

Thanks in advance!

Hi John,

AFAIK-> Unfortunately, there is no upgrade pricing from Win 2k3 to SBS2k3
Std Ed (actually the 2nd one is cheaper). You would need to get the full
edition (for $599 or less) and 5 more CALs (at $99 or less each).

As long as you don't have any trusts established, no TS in App Mode and the
server holds all the FSMO roles... there shouldn't be any problems.

Further to Javier's comments, the now redundant Windows 2003 license can be
reused as a terminal server in the SBS2003 domain, even on workstation
hardware for little cost. You would just be up for a few TS CALs. If they
have remote users, or any win9x or winnt workstations, this is a
plus.
